***DO NOT SIMPLY SCROLL PAST. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS POST*** Today I learned how it feels to be a hero and to save a life.
It's not an ego boost. I don't feel powerful or invincible or anything like that. It's something so much deeper than that... An almost surreal feeling which is very hard to put into words.
I suppose the best way to describe how I am feeling is to say that I am incredibly humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to be in the right place at the right time.
Before you ask; no, I did not pull someone from a burning building or prevent someone from being hit by a car or take a bullet for another person. All I had to do was be present. It was something that seems so simple and so meaningless when put into words in this fashion, but it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
If we could all just take a few minutes out of our lives and be present... Well, the world wouldn't need a Superman would it?
